Like Crazy
Just watched Like Crazy.
The movie overall - good but not great (again)(excellent ending though). I like it ..but it’s not Before Sunrise or Before Sunset or A Little Romance or Vicki Cristina Barcelona or even Up In The Air . Like Crazy doesn’t drive me crazy and make me stop to ponder about life, love, and that energy of youth like the movies I just listed.
However, one thing...

Modern Family
There are two criteria for me to fall in love with a sitcom:
1. I can re-watch each episode and still laugh 2. I care for the storyline of each character and have a hard time deciding who my favorite character is.
Simple, right?
However, I have not been this crazily obsessed with any show since Friends. I do watch regularly Community, Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother...

Happy 2012 !
Ok, Happy Belated 2012, everyone :)
So far, 2012 has been amazing…
I laughed, I danced, and I sang with the best friends I could ever asked for and thousands of strangers at the Opera in Hanoi, Vietnam, counting down for 2012.
(Oh yeah, I was in Vietnam for 3 weeks - more on that in later posts)
I continue my laugh-dance-sing routine until 7am the next day.
It was simply...

Winter Reading List
So I just went to the local Davis bookstore Avid Reader and picked up a couple of novels for the winter break.
I was first introduced to Italo Calvino’s classic If on a winter’s night a traveler when I was in middle school. I have wanted to read it ever since but never find the right time or mood. It’s famous for its innovative writing...

Day 3 in LA
Last full day in LA - so we slept in a little late. Ngoc and I had brunch at Ivy to continue our trip of “LA hot spots.”
I had a simple dish of spaghetti with meatballs and Ngoc had French toasts with fruits.
We then met up with Steven for a tour of Warner Brothers studio. Thanks to no-traffic-Thanksgiving, we miraculously made it to Burbank from Beverly Hills in just 30...

Day 2 in LA: Black Friday
Ngoc and I woke up early and went to Beverly Center for Black Friday. It was not that crazy. Guess people all went to outlets.
The Grove was our next stop.
We caught a taping of Extra and saw a glimpse of Regis Philbin (OK confession: I knew in advance about this and dragged my friend there to “stalk” THE Legend). He looked so radiant. I watched Regis and Kelly Live everyday...

Day 1 in LA: Thanksgiving
I spent 3 amazing days in LA with one of my best friends, Ngoc. Here’s a recap of my Thanksgiving break:
Day 1: Thanksgiving - Thursday Nov 24th 2011
Ngoc and I met up with Steven for breakfast at Blu Jam Cafe. It was a little hassle to find a restaurant opening at early hours for Thanksgiving, but Blu Jam didn’t disappoint. It was a little small but crowded coffee shop with a...

The Moment
Standing at the crossroad of La Cienega and Sunset under the broiling sun of August. Cars flux through the blazing boulevard, honking, breathing out black smoke, blurring the blue summer sky.
A sense of familiarity deja vu the chaotic streets of Hanoi the vibrant energy of New York.
The irritating heat, the polluted air It felt like home. I knew then, I need to move to Los Angeles.
